Product Description

This Impressionistic Realist painting is titled CONTEST 1966” by Norm Daniels is another beautiful impressionist painting of Daniels unique color palette.

Daniels was inspired to paint this piece from a photo of a surf contest that took place at Makaha in 1966 between heats.
This was long before leashes, Quiksilver, Billabong, Hurley, Volcum and other surf companies that have made the sport what it is today.
In the 60’s the guys wore t-shirts with felt-tip marker numbers on them so the judges and spectators on shore could tell who the surfers were offshore in the water.

Daniels painted this composition with his own interpretation of reality as he sees the world and for the viewer to grasp that vision he has created with his dramatic palette knife and brush stroke techniques.
Each of Daniel’s Signed & Numbered Tru-Giclee Limited Editions are imaged onto archival canvas utilizing the Giclee imaging process using archival inks.

The art is also accompanied with a “Certificate of Authenticity” that is signed by the Artist with the corresponding edition number on the document.

This 24x15 Limited Edition of 145 is un-stretched and is shipped rolled in a tube.
