Art Review: Shades of Gray #11 by Scott Munzig

An introduction to our art review blog series.

At SurfArt.com, we are your premier source for a variety of truly incredible pieces of surf art. With such a huge collection of pieces for you to choose from, we know that it can be difficult to narrow down your choices and find the right one for you. That is why we are starting a surf art review series of our favorite options. Today, we will be talking about Shades of Gray #11 by  Scott Munzig

An exploration of the world, using just one color.

This painting, like much of Scott Munzig's work, isn't so much indicative of the true nature of the world but the inspiration that comes from admiring everything that nature has to offer. Munzig's self-taught expertise and his passion for nature's miracles shine through with each brush stroke. Although there are many incredible features in this one-of-a-kind painting, one of the most astounding is his ability to express so much with just one color. He utilizes shades and tones of gray to create a picture that is just as vivid as if it were made of a wealth of color. In Shades of Gray #11, Scott Munzig has created a world that is both ambient and full of life.
