Keith Finkelstein - Impressionist / Fused Glass
My love of impressionistic movement is expressed in my glasswork. I feel that each piece I create represents an impressionistic dream that is preserved forever within the glass. The process taking hundreds of thousands of tiny pieces of glass, melting them from solid into liquid form as the glass becomes one solid sheet, then cooling the glass back to a solid form is an absolutely fascinating and consuming process. Much like life, glass is fragile, yet very strong.

Keith Finkelstein was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Art became an early passion as his home was constantly filled with art and music. As a child, he spent many hours watching his mother paint wonderful oil paintings and murals. Keith spent countless hours drawing and working with pastels on his own. Later, in college, his love for drawing developed into the medium of zinc plate acid etchings and engravings. His early work with pastels eventually led to a love of oil painting, which has continued to this day. He is intrigued with the simple geometries of contemporary design mixed with an old world sensibility.
Through many years of traveling across the globe and over 20 trips to Italy, Keith fell in love with fine art glass. His fascination with the wonderful luminous colors and transparent dynamics of the glass medium has now become an obsession. After years of acquiring glass works for his own collection, Keith acquired the knowledge and skill to create these wonderful pieces you now see today.
Keith has been dedicating his time to creating amazing glass landscapes as his ongoing passion. He is also a Musician and songwriter.
The pieces in this collection have been created in Keith's impressive studio in Lake Tahoe.
