Carole Boller - Portrait Impressionist / Original Oils, Giclees on Canvas

Artist Statement

All artists search for that perfect place to be completely connected to their environment. For me, that place is Newport Beach in Southern California, where my sailboat/studio sits on the waterfront overlooking the bay. The local people, the sun drenched beaches, romantic coves, dramatic cliffs, pounding surf, tranquil bays and the myriad of yachts, boats, ferries and other watercraft that glide through the bay and past my studio provide my daily inspiration. The glistening spray from waves crashing against the beach, the glow of the cliffs during dramatic sunsets, the color and excitement of people enjoying their leisure time and the reflections of light, the form and color from the surrounding water all illuminate my paintings. It's a rich environment with a wealth of fascinating subjects that allows me to produce work that people simply fall in love with.
